Confidentiality and Data Stewardship
Community justice depends on trust. CJC's public pathways are designed to help people find the right door without turning private stories into public data.
Public pathways are not public case files
The forms and pathways on this website help people reach the right next step. They are not a public record of anyone's situation, and they are not a substitute for a private, authorized case process.
Minimal necessary information
We ask for only what is needed to understand a request and respond. Please share only what is necessary — detailed case, legal, medical, or safety information does not belong in a public form.
Consent-aware sharing
Information is shared thoughtfully and, where appropriate, with consent. CJC aims to avoid exposing private participant information as it coordinates support.
Role-based access
Where CJC uses internal tools, access to information is limited to the people who need it for their role.
Reporting without exposure
CJC can communicate impact and learning in aggregated, de-identified ways — telling the community's story without exposing individual stories.
Limits to confidentiality
Confidentiality has limits. Some situations may require action or disclosure, including mandated reporting, immediate safety concerns, or legal requirements.
Not for emergencies
This website is not an emergency channel. If there is immediate danger, call emergency services or use the appropriate crisis, protective-services, school, legal, or medical channel.
